Collie Eugene Griswell (August 16, 1931 – January 12, 2020)

Collie Eugene Griswell, 88, of Orlando departed this life on Sunday, January 12, 2020. Collie, affectionately called Big Man, was born on August 16, 1931 in Tyrrell County, North Carolina to Mary and James Griswell.

Collie served in the US Army and later retired from the Orange County Public School System. He also worked in property management for Orange County. Collie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Collie is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Griswell; sons, Vernon Griswell, Donald (Darryl) Griswell, Alonzo Griswell; daughters, Mabel (Keller) Mack, Brenda Griswell, Sharon Gaines; a host of grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 4-7pm at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, 11:00AM at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 4077 Prince Hall Boulevard, Orlando with Pastor J. Roy Morrison, officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando, Florida.
