Obituary:

RayAnn Walker Wilson, 73, a former resident of Orlando, departed this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in Albany, GA. RayAnn was born on August 10, 1946 in Blakley, Early County, Georgia to Raymond Walker and Mildred (Ealy) Cook Walker the only girl of five (5) children. She attended the public schools in Orange County and also attended Jones High School. She received her GED certificate and eventually relocated to Georgia. RayAnn attended Rollins College, Albany, GA graduating the 3rd highest in her Class for two (2) years. She received a Degree in Business Management/Retail.

RayAnn began working at the age of 14 at the (then) Carver Theatre; she worked hard with her brothers in their roofing business doing general office duties, she drove the truck and also worked on house roof’s.

RayAnn loved her family and the opportunity availed wherein she could assist in rearing some of her siblings. She legally adopted two of her siblings, Raven Wilson and Laquinton “Tory” Wilson; she also raised her great nephew from a baby, Tajh Manning. She instilled love and strong ethical moral values in them. Her love and guidance has been the strength that has kept the family closely bonded.

RayAnn formerly served here at New Bethel Church in her former years along with her family; attending Sunday School and singing in the choir.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Children, Raven Symone Walker Wilson & Laquinton Bacardi “Tory” Wilson, Tajh Renier Manning; Brothers: James Leroy “Honey” Walker & John Raymond “Baby Doll” Walker; a devoted Aunt, Flo Ealy (Robert) Freeman; Aunts: Vivian Stringer, Lillian Williams, Maxine Williams, Arlivia Reed and Sallie Oliver; a host of nieces (great), nephews (great), cousins and other relatives, sorrowing friends and a community of neighbors who will miss her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 4-7PM at the mortuary. A service of Celebration will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019, 11:00 AM at New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 4201 W. Columbia Street, Orlando with Pastor Ronald E. Williams, Sr., officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando, FL .
