Obituary:

Tiomoya L. Owens, 54, of Sanford, departed this life on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Tiomoya was born on May 18, 1971 in Newark, New Jersey. Professionally, she was employed as a Publix Supermarket store manager for over 15 years prior to her demise. She was also a Mary K Cosmetics sales representative.

A mother, sister and a friend to many, Tiomoya’s life left an example of compassion, determination, independence, loyalty and strength. In her spare time, she enjoyed travelling and walking along the waterfront in Tampa. We will sorely miss her and will cherish her memory along with the love and laughter she provided us over the years.

Tiomoya is survived by her 3 children, Nile Owens, Jasmine Owens, Imani Owens; brother, Darnell Davis; stepmother, Martha Owens; 4 grandchildren; and a host other relatives, co-workers and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 12:00 Noon until services begin at 2:00 PM, St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 920 Cypress Avenue, Sanford, Florida

    It has been an honor to be the Orlando Director who encouraged Tiomoya for the last decade in her Mary Kay business, Her friendships with women in Mary Kay have spread wide and far. Tiomoya always had a kind word to share. TIomoya loved her Publix family and spoke highly of them too. Our hearts are broken. Imani has been coming to our weekly meetings since she was 8. She has been our meeting “daughter” – always giving hugs and love to us- our young lady who grew up so fast! May her family find peace. May we all know she loved us fully.

    I’m lost for words. I grew with her mother. We were very good friends 🧡 and I remember Tee going to school and attending her graduation with both parents. I will truly miss her. May God bless and keep the family during this time.

    It is in shock and sadness that I extend my condolences at Tiomoya’s passing! Her mother and were close friends when Tiomoya was a little girl and we all lived in Philadelphia. After they moved back to Sanford, we lost close contact with each other. My prayers for Tiomoya’s children and community at this difficult time.

    I felt an instant love the first time I met her. She was loving, caring funny and tough. You knew right away who she was and that she loved deeply. Her family was her world and she loved her Mary Kay Sisters. I will miss you T 😔

    “T” was an inspiration with an amazing smile 😊. I am so saddened by her passing and lift all who loved her up in prayer. May Gods peace surround you as you walk this road.

    My heart is broken from the loss of someone so special. A true friend, always warm, always willing to help and always smiling. Her kindness will live on in the memories I hold so dear to me;

    I can’t really express how much this beautiful being meant to me! She came into my life at such a time that I had no idea that I needed her! She helped me through a rough time and I would have never met her if had not joined Mary Kay. She and all my other MK sisters helped me to overcome so many wounds. I will ever be grateful to her as my heart sister from the day we met on Zoom the first time!! You will always be in my heart Tee! Such a light to every room!!

    Tiomoya Thank You for gracing us with your Beautiful smile and your tremendous big hugs🤎!!!! These are two most powerful of our many exchanges. The times when we came together were always so full of fun, tears of both joy and sadness, to celebrate your accomplishments and delicious meals all amid a beautiful group of women and friends. I will always treasure those times that we’ve shared. To your family, may your tears of joy that have been bottled up by your savior, be poured out over your family to water them in love, strength, joy, and peace. May the seed of your life that has been sown Bear much fruit for your children and grandchildren. Lord let peace be still for Tiomoya’s family and comfort them. AMEN
