Obituary:
SSG Sherman Douglas Pierce, 67, of Orlando, FL, departed this life on Monday, August 4, 2025. Sherman was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 5, 1958 to Bobbetta and William Pierce. Sherman served his country honorably as retired from the US Army as a Teletype Communications specialist. He travelled the globe and was awarded with various commendations and medals to include National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and Army Achievement Medal to name a few.
Sherman was an active and faithful member of New Church of Faith, Orlando. He was a provider and devoted his life to caring for his beloved family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Sherman is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Nora J. Pierce; children, Coran (Darrul) Littlejohn, Terence (Cynthia) Pierce, Orlando (Brittany) Pierce; 3 siblings, William (Darlene) Pierce, Jeffrey Pierce, Christie (Norman) Reid; 8 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will take place on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 5-7PM at the church. Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, 12:00 Noon at New Church of Faith, 5000 Silver Star Road, Orlando with Bishop Russ Beacham, officiating. Interment: Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell with full military honors.

Being an adopted member of the Pierce family as been a blessing. Rest my brother, your love will be with us forever!
