Obituary:
Ruby Benton Lee, 94, of Apopka, entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Ruby was born on January 19, 1931 in Tildenville, FL to the late Emma S. and William H. Benton.
After graduating high school, Ruby continued her education and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Science Degree in Education. She was a dedicated member and served as a National officer of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Professionally, Ruby served her community as an educator, and taught for over 30 years with Orange County Public Schools. Her career allowed her to impact countless students over the years. Her devotion to the craft was driven by her enthusiasm for positively impacting students and working alongside other passionate educators.
Ruby was an active and faithful member of St. Paul AME Church, Apopka, serving tirelessly and willingly for the building of God’s Kingdom. Ruby leaves no mourners for she lived a rich Christian life among loving and devoted family and friends, regardless of race, creed or color, just loved by all. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Danzy; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She will live on in the hearts and minds of her family, other relatives, former students, colleagues, sorority sisters and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 4-6 PM at the the funeral home. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, 11:00 AM at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1012 S. Park Avenue, Apopka with Pastor Gerard Moss, officiating. Interment: Oakland Community Cemetery, Oakland.

Mother Ruby B Lee was my 3rd grade teacher at Holden street Elementary school in Orlando. She planted a seed in me that will always grow, she is my hero and her words will always live on in my heart

Although we at St. Paul AME Church in Apopka will miss Sis. Ruby Benton Lee from so many areas of the church, we rejoice in knowing: to be absent from the body is to be present with our Lord. To the family our thoughts and prayers are with you during your hours of bereavement
