Obituary:
Michael Theodis Chatman, 76, of Winter Park, departed this life on Monday, October 27, 2025. Michael, a lifelong resident of Orlando, was born on January 7, 1949 to the late Gracie D. and Henry C. Chatman. He worked for the University of Central Florida as a mail carrier for several years. He was a loving brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his siblings and a host of other relatives and many friends.
A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 12:00 Noon, Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. Interment: Woodlawn Memorial Park, Orlando.

Michael Chatman passed yesterday. His sister Frances Drayton was my high school classmate so I’ve known Michael since he was a starry eyed kid in the 60’s. After we became adult Facebook friends much later we chatted off and on and he shared his amazing art. I didn’t hear from him in a long while and wondered what happened until I learned he was sick.

The Artist
Michael was always drawing as a kid so I’m thrilled he pursued his dream and has blossomed into a very talented artist.
I also liked to draw but I kept it hid. Drawing in my lonely room was my refuge from unkind narrow-minded people who harassed me and called me names….but I hated when mom hauled out my drawings and showed them to her friends and beauty shop customers…so I stopped!
….until we meet again Michael.👋🏾👴🏾✌🏾
