Obituary:

Johnnie Anthony “Bromo” Broner, 64, of Orlando, departed this life on Saturday, April 3, 2021. Johnnie was born on March 25, 1957 to Johnny B. Broner and Elizabeth K. Broner in Orlando, Florida. Johnnie loved his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Johnnie was a loving, kind and giving person. He learned at an early age how to cook. By watching his parents cook, he practiced what he observed in the kitchen. He spent his time perfecting his recipes. His cooking made him well known, liked and respected by many. People began to refer to him as “Bromo” when he worked the grill. He participated in the Zora Neale Hurston events during Black History Month. He cooked for many communities in Central Florida. He had the best BBQ stand in the area. His food was delicious (no matter what he cooked and prepared). He spent his time teaching his son Javon everything he knew. They created a special bond as Johnnie took his time showing Javon how to master his cooking and grilling skills.

In his spare time, he loved listening to all types of music, he enjoyed watching and commentating on News Events. Johnnie also loved watching the Sci Fi channel, comedies, and truly loved sports. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his children: Javon Xavier Broner, others he raised as his own include Eboni S. Tucker Smith, Taurean D. Tucker, Mychal L. Keeley, Taylor J. Keeley; and several grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his precious memories siblings, Florence Brown, Drucilla Brooks, Ulysses A. Stokes, Abraham Stokes, Althea Dukes, Donald R. Stokes, Pamela P. Windham, Curtis L. Broner, Jacqueline Brown, Jerome Broner and a host of other family, friends, and neighbors.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021, 1:00PM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando.

Wow Bromo, you proved the doctors wrong when they counted you out a while ago. Now you and Oral can have those long conversations like you use to have in Eatonville.

May the Lord give you all the sent=gth and perseverance to carry on. Peace be still.

    Nancy
