The Lord, in His infinite power, called His daughter, Deloris “Lois” Roberts Shepherd, home on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the age of 84. Deloris was born on January 10, 1941, in Orlando, Florida, to the late James Roberts and Annie Mae Robinson Roberts. Deloris lived her life out loud and on purpose, embodying an unapologetic faith and devotion as a wife and mother. Deloris was educated in Orange County Public Schools. After graduating in 1958 from Jones High School, she attended Florida A&M University.

She studied and received her certification in cosmetology in the early sixties. Deloris’ career started at Butlers Beauty Salon; then she continued her career at Freddie’s Creative hair styles. Deloris worked as a stylist and manager at Freddie’s Creative hairstyles for over 55 years until her retirement in June 2024.

Aside from her professional duties, she was a dedicated and faithful member of Solid Rock United Methodist Church, Orlando. She served on the usher board, United Methodist Women in Faith and other church committees. She was also a member of the Amvets Ladies Auxiliary, Post #30 for over 50 years.

A loving woman with a heart of gold, Deloris believed in the power of community and never met a stranger. Lois leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew her. Her spirit and impact will forever resonate in our hearts. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed.

Deloris leaves to cherish her memories: 3 children, Kevett (Michelle) Mickle Sr., Letitia (Melvin) Shepherd-Spencer, Willie Shepherd Jr; Sister, Gracelia Fulse, 2 brothers Melvin Roberts, Anthony (Burner) Roberts; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a host other, nieces, cousins and other relatives and sorrowing friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, 11:00 AM at Ocoee Oaks United Methodist Church, 201 S. “Rest sweet Queen”

For my family all you had to say was, “Auntie” and everyone knew who you were speaking of. No disrespect to my other aunts but we had to add their names to the title auntie but for Delores Shepherd all you had to say was Auntie and everyone knew that we were speaking of the Queen of our family. I am saddened by her passing, but I am so much more thankful for the life that she lived and the love that she poured into our family. Auntie had a way of making all of her family feel like they were the most important beings on God’s earth. Rest in peace my sweet Queen and know that we will always continue to honor your family legacy.

    Your Nephew,
    Rodney Roberts & Family
