Obituary:

Curtis Jerome Butler was Born on December 15, 1958 to The Late Leo and Barbara Jean Butler in Orlando, Florida at Orange Memorial Hospital, Curtis Grand Parents were The Late Inez Singleton and Willie Richardson and The Late George and Neata Butler. Curtis was the Guardian Child of Jessie ( Leo’s sister), and Noltanious Dabney.

Curtis attended Grade School in Orlando, Florida at Carver Elementary School. Curtis attended Fitzsimon Jr. High School in Philadelphia, Pa and attended Benjamin Franklin High School in Philadelphia, Pa. Curtis was The President of his 11th Grade Class and The Vice President of his 12th Grade Class, Curtis Graduated in 1976.

Curtis was Baptized in 1968 at North Penn Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pa where he was an Usher and Lead The Children’s Choir. Curtis Sang Gospel with Kitty Parham, Keith Pringle and Ricky Grundy. Curtis attended Tracey Warner School of Fashion Design, in Philadelphia, Pa in 1977-1979. Curtis enjoy Designing Clothing for men and women, and gained the nick name of “Designer “. Curtis then ventured into The Graphic Design arena which is called“ Kurtis Design Collection Times, that started in 1992.

Curtis joined The United States Navy in 1980, where he was stationed in Souda Bay Crete, Greece until 1984. Curtis attended Temple University, and received a Bachelors Degree in Business Accounting. Curtis moved to Los Angeles, California, where he joined West Angeles Church of God in Christ and was a Usher and The Church Membership Secretary. Curtis lead a Support Group called“ Beams of Heaven“, for Terminally ill People. Curtis always rallied for the occasion to help anyone that was sick.

Curtis Job at Coca Cola relocated him to Florida in 2001, as an Accounting Analyst, where he joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and he served as Assistant Chairperson of The Repast Committee and Volunteered with The Soup Kitchen, until 2014, at which time Curtis moved to Atlanta, GA and Joined New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church, where he continued to help people in anyway they needed.

In 2019,Curtis moved back to Orlando, Florida, where he re-joined his favorite Church, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, “Where Love Makes a Difference”, in Eatonville, Florida, under the leadership of Pastor Willie C. Barnes and Curtis began to Volunteer as needed.

Curtis continued his Graphic Designs, Known as: Kurtis Design Collection Times LLC of Orlando.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 5-7 PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, 11:00 AM at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 412 E. Kennedy Boulevard, Eatonville with Pastor Willie C. Barnes, officiating. Interment: Rose Hill Cemetery, Kissimmee with military honors.

    My condolences to the Butler family. I met Curtis in 2019. I thank God for the laughter and friendship we shared. May he rest in peace.
