Obituary:
Caler L. “Sonny” James, 82, of Orlando, departed this life on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Caler was born on May 10, 1943 in Pahokee, FL. Caler lived all of his life in Florida and received his education through the Public School System.
As an adult, Sonny worked as an auto mechanic for several years. He loved living life to the fullest by spending time with family, he was always generous in his giving and willing to help others in need.
Sonny was a proud father of twelve children and they were his passion. Sonny leaves his precious memories with 5 daughters, Georgette Wheeler, Patra Jones, Katie (Billy) James-McCoy, Mary Culpepper, Anita James; 7 sons, Kenneth James, Douglas (Latesha) James. Daman (Yolonda) James, Jimmy (Felecia) Tomlin, Ricky (Tina) Tomlin, Carlos Tomlin, Derrick Phillips; 37 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Caler “Sonny” James will be truly missed by many.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 4-6 PM at the mortuary. A service of Celebration will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, 1:00 PM at Mt. Olive Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 745 Woods Avenue, Orlando.
