Obituary:
Venice Elkanah “POPS” Gayle, 83, of Orlando, departed this life on Saturday, December 20, 2025. Venice was born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, W.I. on January 25, 1942 to the late Daisy and Phillip Gayle.
In pursuit of the American dream, he migrated to the United States of America, eventually settling down in Central Florida. Professionally, he worked in janitorial services for several years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish and celebrate his legacy: wife, Joycelin Sutherland-Gayle; 4 children, Donna (Glen) Sewell, Lavan Gayle, Richard (Lauren) Bryant, O’neil Gayle; 9 siblings; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 4-6 PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, 11:00 AM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. Interment: Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka.
