Obituary:

Sylvester “Vest” Pryor, Sr., 86, of Orlando, departed this life on Friday, November 4, 2022. Sylvester was born on January 6, 1936 in Cherry Lake, FL to the late Rubell and Johnnie Pryor. Professionally, Sylvester worked in construction for several years.

Vest, as he was affectionately called, dedicated his life to providing for his family. He instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all his children and grandchildren to follow. Vest loved to hunt and watch the Tampa Bay Rays Baseball team. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Vest is survived by his loving wife, Ida Pryor; children, Lashawn (Major) Pryor, Phyllis Pryor, LaVern (Pedro) Cruz, Eric (Henrietta Streeter) Lane; one sister, Ruby Lee Pryor; and a host of grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, 1:00 PM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.

    My sincere condolences to the Pryor family. Prayers for comfort, light, and love during this time. Rest in Peace to my Malibu father. I’ll always have fond memories of my childhood and times spent at the Pryor hone.
