Obituary:
Shontae D. Davis-Cox, 52, of Hampton, GA departed this life on Saturday, July 29, 2023. Queen Shontae was born on December 17, 1970 in the beautiful city of Orlando, FL. From a young child, Shontae was a leader, dedicated, determined, smart, respectful, open-minded and of course brought laughter to anyone in her atmosphere. Furthermore, Shontae was a leader & determined individual from birth by her mother Prophetess Sherrald Redding-Blanchard & the late, General W. Davis II; being the oldest child amongst her siblings.
During Shontae’s life her unique personality brought many smiles to a variety of hearts. Her intelligent, resilient mind, led her to being an achiever of many aspects throughout life. As a young child, Shontae started her early learning in the Christian Church under Bishop Alvin Palmer & First Lady Betty Palmer. Soon after, she attended Central Christian Church to begin head start. Shontae attended Palmetto Elementary, Ivey Lane Elementary, Meadowbrook Middle School, and Evans High School during her childhood. While attending Evans High School, she joined ROTC. Soon after high school she attended and graduated from Orlando College. As an adolescent, Shontae began working. Shontae has been an asset to many companies and or businesses; such as Sprint, Publix, CVS Pharmacy, and a few other telecommunications companies. While working at Sprint, Shontae earned many awards & accolades because of her phenomenal performance. The blessed aura GOD placed upon her, Shontae shared it with others by placing smiles throughout their hearts and faces.
GOD also birthed Shontae with many gifts within her soul. Shontae was a member of the Freewill Holiness Church Of God out of Apopka, FL under the late Bishop James McFarley & First Lady Trina McFarley. By the Grace of God, Shontae, was blessed with four beautiful children: Sa’Quan, Joshua, Shon’nae (DeRico Cater), and Jahlon. Shontae’s siblings: Angela Murphy (Benjamin Murphy), Renae Walker (Jae Walker), Crystal Davis and General W. Davis III. As a blessed, loyal, and devoted Queen, Shontae enjoyed being loved by her husband William L. Cox. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.
Shontae left an exclusive love to many hearts throughout the world. The Queen’s aura will not be forgotten or overlooked. GOD, we thank you for blessing the world with a prodigious vessel made from your hands. Shontae D. Davis-Cox will forever live on!
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, 10:00 AM at Grace Bible Church of Central Florida, 801 Dorscher Road, Orlando with Pastor Gene Pritchard, officiating. Interment: Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka.
