Obituary:

Sgt. Willie James Harris, 82, of Orlando, departed this life on Friday, March 28, 2025. Willie was born on December 29, 1942 in Gonzalez, Florida to Mattie and Hubert Lee Harris Sr. Willie served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1969. After his military service, he worked at Lockheed Martin as a digital processing technician for over 30 years.

Willie was a dedicated family man. He instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all of his family to follow. In his spare time, he enjoyed baking his favorite dishes from scratch, landscaping and gardening, and collecting rare coins. Willie was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Bessie Harris; daughters, Felicia Harris, Olivia Harris; brother, Hubert (Phyllis) Harris Jr.; 1 grandson; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 5-7PM at the mortuary. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, 1:30 PM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims with full military honors.
