Obituary:

Ruby M. Tait-Burnett, 91, of Orlando, transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Ruby was born on August 21, 1933 to the late Anna and Thomas Harris in Trenton, New Jersey. Following her formal education, Ruby journeyed on to work as a certified nurses assistant for several years.

Ruby not only served others for a living, but she also served her church, Mount Olive A.M.E Church, Orlando. Ruby was devoted to God and to prayer and was very active in various ministries, even as her health began to decline.

She loved her grand and great grandchildren, cooking, and hosting her family for holiday’s. She was well known in her community where she made countless friends and gained endless “bonus children”. To know Ruby was to love her. She could make you smile on your lowest day. She was a woman of integrity, with a heart of gold. Her life and legacy will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.

Ruby is survived by her children: son, Donte (Tammie) Tait; daughters, Carmen M. Rosario, Aleja Martin; brother, Ezra Harris; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 5-7 PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, 1:00 PM at Mt. Olive AME Church, 2525 W. Church Street, Orlando with Rev. Dr. Marcus Green, officiating. Interment: Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka.
