Obituary:
Peter A. Tulloch, Sr., a beloved husband and father of Windsor, Connecticut, and Orlando, Florida, departed this earthly life on Saturday, August 23, 2025. He was born to the late Thomas and Sutilda (Gordon) Tulloch on June 9, 1927, in Pond Hill, Clarendon, Jamaica, West Indies.
Raised in a religious household, he accepted Christ, our Lord, as his savior later in life and thereafter remained His lifelong and humble Christian servant. A twenty-six-year member of the Koinonia Ministries of Central Florida Church in Orlando, FL, his stewardship was evident in his maintenance of the natural beauty of the church grounds. He ensured the lawn was always perfectly manicured, repaired anything he could, and by Christmas time, the edifice was covered with lights. He made many church friends, who became his adopted family, affectionately calling him “Daddy T.” He remained a faithful, active member of the church until his health prevented him from physically participating.
In 1950, he married the love of his life, Vicarene Tulloch. In 1964, the couple eventually migrated from Jamaica, West Indies, to Hartford, CT, and later to Windsor, CT. In 1971, he joined the workforce at First National Stores Inc. (FINAST) as a selector, retiring in 1993 as a supervisor after 22 years of service. In 1994, Peter and Vicarene migrated from Windsor, CT, to Orlando, FL, to enjoy their retirement years in the warm sunshine.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching baseball, which he found to be the closest sport to cricket. He was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan. He loved playing dominoes and made many friends upon relocating to the Sunshine State. His passion was gardening; he was meticulous with his landscape, and he loved tending to his mangos, oranges, pineapples, bananas, and sugarcane. He also enjoyed helping his neighbors and friends with their own gardens. Anything he planted in the ground would grow. Additionally, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them about gardening. A friend to all he met and a natural storyteller, he always maintained a wonderful sense of humor and brought smiles and laughter to anyone in need.
In addition to his parents and wife, Vicarene, he was predeceased by his siblings: Overlin Seville, Richard Tulloch, John Tulloch, and Lilly Tulloch. Loved by all who met him, Peter leaves to cherish his beautiful legacy, his daughters, Marsha Towana Tulloch-Marshall (Patrick), Dorothy Dunbar; his son, Peter Tulloch, Jr.; grandchildren: Natasha Dunbar, Peter Javon Tulloch, III, Tyrese Marshall, Josiah Marshall, Peter Prince Tulloch, IV, Nathan Tulloch, and Natlie Tulloch. He also leaves to mourn his passing a special nephew, Eucal Tulloch, with whom he shared a very close bond, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The celebration of Peter’s life will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 9:45am with a visitation from 9:00am – 9:45am at Koinonia Ministries of Central Florida, 5928 Gilliam Road, Orlando, FL 32818. Interment will be held at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703.
