Obituary:
Perman McIntosh Jr., 74, of Orlando, departed this life on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Perman was born on October 22, 1949 in Winter Haven, Florida to the late Queen E. and Permon McIntosh Sr. From his parents he inherited a spiritual legacy of faith and trust in God. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal savior.
Perman received his formal education in the Public School system. After graduation, he continued his education at Florida A&M University. While at FAMU, he was inducted into the Scabble and Blade Honor Society.
After completing his Masters’ Degree, he was commissioned in the US Army. He was a logistics project supervisor and was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1985. He retired with prestigious honors for unselfish dedication.
Perman was known for his humble love for people and for his most modest characteristics. He was a loyal friend to all who knew him. His associations and commitments made in the lives of others were highly respected. He enjoyed bowling, he coached and played basketball, and he was an active member of the FAMU Alumni Association.
Captain McIntosh is survived by his loving wife, Clara McIntosh; children, Pamela and Kevin McIntosh; 7 siblings, Queen (William) Chamberlain, Lauretha McIntosh, Leroy (Rita) McIntosh, Samuel (Mary) McIntosh, Willie Lee (Audrey) McIntosh, Pearlie Mae Stephenson, Anthony (Vanessa) McIntosh; 6 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, October 26, 11:00 AM at Hurst Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 875 Avenue O NE, Winter Haven with Rev. Keith Malone, officiating. Interment: Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell with full military honors.

Please accept my most sincere and heartfelt sympathy in the loss of your loved one. Perman was a man of great knowledge and spirituality and was a principled man that loved God. In time your pain from his loss will subside but thank God for the memories which will last you a lifetime. God Speed and RIP my friend.

It was a distinct pleasure knowing and working with Perman the years I was working in OPS at PEOSTRI. He was a great supervisor to all of us. May you now rest in peace with our Lord. Many condolences to the family.
