Obituary:

Ozella “Madea” Murray, 90, of Orlando, fell asleep and entered eternal rest on Friday, June 4, 2021. Ozella was born on April 15, 1931 in Dawson, GA to the late Minnie and Leroy Shannon Sr. Professionally, Ozella was employed as a bus monitor with Orange County Public Schools for several years.

Ozella, also known as Madea, dedicated her life to serving God, her family and community. She was an active and faithful member of New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she served in several capacities until her health declined. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her children and grandchildren to follow. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Madea is survived by her 6 loving daughters, Queen Shannon, Linda Gilbert, Mary Walker, Shirley Murray, Jackie Murray, Gloria McClendon; sisters, Ethel Brown, Mary Alice (Deacon Henry) Holloway; a host of grand, great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, 11:00AM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando with Pastor Ronald E. Williams, Sr., officiating. Interment: Woodlawn Memorial Park, Orlando.
