Obituary:

Mother Wilhelmina C. Hayes, 93, of Apopka, departed this life on Monday, May 27, 2024. Mother Hayes was born in Meridian, Mississippi on September 20, 1930 to Minnie H. and Marion Clark who preceded her in death. Wilhelmina accepted The Lord as her Savior at an early age.

Professionally, Wilhelmina worked in many different fields of service. She was employed with Orange County School Board as an aide, and also worked in after school care at Lakeville Elementary. Wilhelmina loved people and children.

Mother Hayes was a faithful member of EBON Temple Inc., Orlando for many years. As a Ebonite, she served on the Mother’s Board, Missionary Board, and as a Deaconess. Mother Hayes put God first in all that she did and she made sure her family knew who God was and how good God is. God knew she served her purpose and decided to call her home on May 27th, 2024. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She’s survived by a loving and devoted 4 devoted children, Mildred Dixon, Sohelia (Kither) Naeem, Alicia (John) West, David Hayes; 4 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, other relatives, church family and many friends.

Visitation and wake services will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2021 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, 11:00 AM at EBON Temple, Inc., 7001 Wallace Road, Orlando with Bishop Thomas S. Lee, Jr. officiating. Interment: Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.

    Thank you Postell’s Mortuary for honoring my mother, Wilhelmina Clark Hayes with nothing less than a BEAUTIFUL CELEBRATION OF LIFE! Mommy looked absolutely beautiful and we could not have asked for a better rendering of service than what you provided.
