Obituary:

Marie Mallard Benton, 82, of Orlando, departed this life on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Marie, affectionately called Mommie, was born on October 18, 1939 in Blakely, GA to the late Dolly Lee and Ed Mallard. Marie was employed with Orange County School Board as worked as a cafeteria worker for several years. After she retired from OCPS, she began her own hospitality business. Marie dedicated her life to her family and community.

She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her children and grandchildren to follow. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Marie is survived by her children, Samuel Mallard, Loretta (Von Eric) Thomas, Priscilla (Marvin) Johnson, Terrell Goodman, Dexter Hill, Matisha Hill, Dwight (Marilyn) Benton, Sr.; brother, Sonny Mallard; 29 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, 11:00 AM, New Life COGIC, 3311 N. Powers Drive, Orlando. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
