Obituary:
Lorraine Denise Wright, 63, Orlando, departed this life on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Lorraine, also known as “Big Lo”, was born on June 14, 1960 in Greensville, SC but was raised in Orlando, Florida to the late Joe and Thelma Wright. She later attended the great Jones High School. Lorraine was a very athletic female as she participated in several sports such as basketball, volleyball, and track.
After graduating from Jones High School in 1979, Lorraine jumped straight into the workforce paving for her a critical hardworking career. Lorraine worked at the Navy Base for 15 years before it closed down. After that, she started a career with Lakeside Alternative for 20 years, and lastly, the Orange County School Board as she was currently working as a crossing guard at the time of her demise.
Lorraine’s legacy lives on by leaving behind her two sons, Joseph A. Wright Sr., Johnny J. McWilliams; 2 brothers, Curtis Wright, Harold Wright; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends. To know “Big Lo” was to love “Big Lo” and she will forever be in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, 2:00 PM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando with Dr. John Everett, officiating.

It is with great sadness filled with deepest condolences to know that your loved one has been called home where we all will shall see one another again. I had the privilege to live next door to Lorraine, her siblings and parents. I left Orlando to enter the military in 1966. I can see her wings being specially tailored.

She was my former co-worker….bus rider and friend….was stern but had a Big heart…My heart…Prayers and condolences goes out to the Family…sorry for your Loss…But Heaven just gained an Angel…
