Obituary:
Lawrence Eric Rainey Sr., 60, of Ocoee, departed this life on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Lawrence was born on February 5, 1965 in Bernie, Missouri to the late Nelvia Moore and Nathaniel Rainey. Professionally, he worked in the healthcare industry for several years until he retired.
God lead him to dedicate his time and service to Bridging the Gap Church of God, Orlando. He served faithfully and offered his talents willingly even as his health began to decline. Apostle Rainey put God first in all that he did and he made sure his family knew who God was and how good God is. He was a loving, caring, respectable man who loved reading the bible, any and everything music related and spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren and great grandchildren always gravitated to him. Lawrence raised all of his kids with values and morals. God knew he served his purpose and decided to call him home June 28th.
He leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife, Angela Laidler; 7 children, Eric Rainey Jr., Erica McClure, Shaneika Robinson, Bianca Rainey, Elon Rainey, Alexis Rainey, Shantessa Rainey; 9 siblings, Nathaniel (Laura) Rainey, Willie (Cathy) Rainey, McKinley Rainey, Sanford Rainey, Roscoe (Dorothy) Rainey, Mandy (Glenn) Rainey, Alberta (Charles) Johnson, Cornelius Rainey, Michelle (Michael) Higgs; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives, church family and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025 from 3-5PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, 3:00 PM at Tabernacle of the Enlightened Church of God, 1097 Broome Avenue, Orlando with Pastor Brittany Wiggins-White, officiating.
