Obituary:

The Lord, in His infinite power, called His son, Kevin Ramsey Davis, Sr., home on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the age of 56. Born on January 17, 1968, in Fayetteville, NC, Kevin lived his life out loud and on purpose, embodying an unapologetic faith and devotion as a husband and father.

Kevin graduated from Jones High School (Class of 1986) and later earned his Bachelor’s degree in Education from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU). He was a proud member of the Chi Tau Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., as well as The Jupiter Masonic Lodge #22. A passionate advocate for health and wellness, Kevin dedicated himself to helping others achieve their fitness goals.

Affectionately known as “The Governor” by his close friends and loved ones, Kevin believed in the power of community and never met a stranger. He primarily worked as a Large Loss Property Catastrophe Adjuster, but his true calling was in ministry. He served at New Covenant Baptist Church as a Deacon, a member of the Men’s Ministry, Men’s Choir, and Health Ministry.

Kevin is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 25 years, Angela; their beloved son, Kevin, Jr. (KJ); his mother, Bettie F. Champion; his brother, David Champion; his sisters, Rev. Ann (Clara) Champion Shaw (Rev. Robert R. II) and Tymy M. Champion; his aunt, Lonnie Jean Ford; his closest cousin, James Davis Ford; and a host of other family and in-laws who loved him dearly.

Kevin leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew him. His spirit and impact will forever resonate in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, 11:00 AM at New Covenant Baptist Church, 2210 S. Rio Grande Avenue, Orlando with Pastor Leroy Rose III, officiating. Interment: Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka.

I am beyond saddened at the news but of this I know, Kevin is resting with our Lord and Savior.
You and Angela have been long-time church members, dedicated to service and excellence in all aspects of life. I’m so grateful for our time here on this side of heaven.
Many prayers for your beautiful bride Angela and your young king KD.
Your presence and voice will truly be missed.
I’ll always hear your voice shout out in praise during service and your hand claps when pastor was on a particular good point 😀 or seeing you in the choir stands singing with the fullness of joy.
I cover the Davis family in love, light, peace and prayers.

    Much love,

    Sheryl
