Obituary:
Kenneth Alonzo Walker, 69, of Kennett, MO, departed this life on Monday, February 8, 2021. Kenneth, affectionately known as KEMO, was born January 22, 1952 in Orlando, Florida to the Late Eva Lee Hilton-Williams and the Late Julius N. Walker Sr. Educationally, he attended Washington Shores Elementary, Carver Middle and graduated in 1970 from Boone High School where he played in the band. He then attended Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University as a member of the Marching 100. He later decided to join the US Air Force where he served for 22 years where he reached the rank of Tech Sergeant and retired.
While serving he saw many Countries and States including Italy, Philippines Texas and Arkansas. While stationed in Blyville Arkansas he met and married the Love of his Life Ethel Mae Ford on June 13, 1982 and moved to Kennett Mo where he resided for over 40 years. He was a faithful member of the St. John AME Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, Member of Trustee Board for 30 years, Finance Committee and recently ordained Exhorter. He retired from the Federal- Mogul Corporation. In December 2020 he filed to run for City Council Seat before his demise. He will be greatly missed by his family, church, and community. His hobbies included watching sports and being busy in his community helping others.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife for over 40 years, Ethel Mae Ford- Walker; one Son, Christopher Walker (Carla); 4 Grandsons, Chris Walker, Marquis Walker, Charles Lenox (Jemina) and Justin Walker; 2 granddaughters, Victoria Lee and Jael Walker; 2 great-granddaughters, Kalia and Gianna Lenox; 5 Brothers, Julius Walker Jr. (Catherine), Gregory Walker, Wayne Williams, Warren Williams and Terry Walker; One Sister, Yolanda Maduro (Walden); 1 Sister-in-law, Alice Ford; 1 brother-n-law, Ricky Ford; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 4-6PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021, 11:00 AM at New Life Church of God in Christ, 3311 N. Powers Drive, Orlando with Bishop L. Cobaris, officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando, with full military honors.
