Obituary:

Jessie L. Johnson, 83, of Orlando, Florida departed this life on Friday, August 8, 2025. Jessie was born on November 29, 1941 in Clearwater, Florida to the late Isaac and Rosie Lee Evans. Professionally, she worked as a clothing presser with Acme cleaners for several years.

Jessie was a very kind, generous, loving woman with a heart of gold. She dedicated her life to her raising and caring for her beloved family. She was an active and faithful member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Orlando even when her health began to decline. In her spare time, Jessie enjoyed fishing, gardening, and being a “community mother” to the youth in her neighborhood. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her children and family to follow. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jessie leaves her precious memories with her loving husband, Deacon Ozell Johnson Jr.; son, Ozell Johnson III (Kimberly); 1 grandson; and a host of other relatives, church family and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 5-7 PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11:00AM, Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1110 Drew Avenue, Orlando with Pastor Charles Williams Jr., officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.

    You truly were was the best listener, as we would stay on the phone for hours at a time. I would never forget the memories we shared. No matter the time I came to see you, you always wanted to give me a gift, I loved my aunt Jet!

    Mrs. Jessie will truly be missed. She was my parent’s neighbor for years before becoming like family. Mrs. Jessie always kind, loving and caring. She will be missed. Her and my mother had a beautiful friendship.
