Obituary:

James Theadis Blackmon, 82, of Sanford, departed this life on Monday, January 18, 2021. James was born on June 27, 1938 to the late Pearl and C V Blackmon in Shorterville, Alabama.

James joined the US Army in 1957 and served his country honorably. He will forever by known for his calm spirit and when anyone heard the name James love, light, and good memories will fill their minds and heart. He has left a legacy that will never be forgotten.

James worked untiringly as a contractor and built swimming pools until he retired. He worked and provided for his family until his call from the Master came on January 18th.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Lavarn Diana (Pastor Frank) McDonald, Dina Haynie, Colette (Avery) Rozier; son, Trenton (Sandra) Blackmon; sister, Vera Mae (Rev. A.D.) Larkins; 17 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021, 12:00 Noon at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando with Pastor Frank McDonald, Officiating. Interment: Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with full military honors.

    We want the family of Theadis to know we truly loved him…he was allways keeping n touch with my brother ,Ressie,,who is blind also..at 3 n the morning,,every morning…they had a very good friendship.. we all love ed Theadis….May God bless all of u all..of u is our prayer.. He allways desired to come back home to Shorterville…God bless and keep..he was God sent man&Smart….
