Obituary:
James Carlton “Jim” Williams, 82, of Orlando, departed this life on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. James was born on February 1, 1940 in Quincy, Florida to the late Margine and Abraham Williams. James was a proud graduate of Bethune-Cookman University, class of 1964. After graduation, he became a devoted member of the Bethune-Cookman University National Alumni Association and served in several capacities on the local level of the Orange County B-CU Alumni Association.
Jim was an active member of Mt. Olive AME Church, Orlando, serving as a member of the Scholarship Committee for many years. Professionally, James served his community as an educator, a coach and retired as a Guidance Counselor from Winter Park after over 40 years with OCPS. His gift for teaching and coaching impacted countless students. His devotion to the craft was driven by his enthusiasm for positively impacting students and working alongside other passionate educators. His career in education allowed him to impact students at West Ridge, Evans, Jones and Oak Ridge High School. He was a dedicated Basketball coach at both West Ridge and Jones High. Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
JC, as he was affectionately called, is survived by his beloved Wilhemena Williams; daughter, Natara Williams; sisters, Mattie Malone, Ruby Borens; 1 granddaughter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive AME Church, 2525 W. Church Street, Orlando. Interment: Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka.

The sweetest man on earth. He taught his name sake everything about being a man! Mr. Williams taught Carlton about being polite, being well mannered, open ladies doors, being highly educated and the value of a dollar. Mr. Williams always affectionately said.. “Hey pretty lady give me a hug SHIRYL! Then call for Carlton. SHIRYL is Here!”

I will rest tonight, heart hurt he passed, but knowing my baby in Heaven with his Daddy. Probably playing piano, and they definitely watching Sports Center together.
