Obituary:

Georgia B. Willis, 81, of Orlando, departed this life on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Georgia was born on December 25, 1942 in Jackson, Mississippi.

Professionally, Georgia worked as an educator for several years in the Orange County Public School System. She had a passion for educating children. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, reading the bible and spending quality time with her family.

She was a woman of great wisdom. She dedicated her life to serving God, her family and community. She was an active member of Pine Hills Community Church, Orlando for over 35 years. While at Pine Hills Church, she served faithfully as a member of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry, Wings of Faith and the Sisterhood Ministries. She taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. To put it mildly, when the doors were open, she was present. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all of her children and grandchildren to follow. Her memories will live on in our hearts. She loved her family and showed love to everyone. Georgia was and will continue to be an inspiration to us all for living life in an exemplary way. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, community servant and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Georgia leaves to cherish her love and memories to: her devoted husband, Fredie L. Willis; daughter, Darlene (Prince) Brown; son, Byron (Elaina) Willis; 3 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, church family and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 4-6 PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, 1:00 PM at Pine Hills Community Church, 1305 N. Pine Hills Road, Orlando with Pastor Julius L. Miles III, officiating. Interment: Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell.

Sis. Willis was my 1st Sunday School teacher at Pine Hills Community Church. I have known her since I was 12 years old I’m now 50! A true Woman of God that knew the WORD. An Intercessor/Prayer Warrior and a great encourager. She will be truly missed here on Earth but she is in the presence of the LORD!

My Sincere Condolences To The Willis Family. I remember as a youth/young adult Mrs Willis, was always available and supportive to the youth, a shoulder to cry on and ear to listen even if we couldn’t talk to our parents.. You Have Fought The Good Fight And Kept The Faith. Earth’s Loss Is Heaven’s Gain. You Have Earned Your Wings. Rest In Heaven Heaven. Mrs. Willis.

My deepest condolences to the Willis family especially Mr. Willis and her remarkable and children. I hope you guys feel surrounded by much love. My thoughts and prayers go to the family during these difficult times . It was an honor of taking care of Ms. Wills. Her faith in God is inspiring me a lot. At the end of my shift she was always the last patient to say goodbye because she’s always pray for me, my family, and held my hands for little bit. The last time I called to her room right before I sent her to the hospital she held my hands and looked at me and couldn’t say any words but I’m confident she was praying for me as usual. May she rest peacefully in the presence of the Lord.

    Junia from Lake Bennet
