Obituary:

George Luther Smith, Sr., 86, of Orlando, departed this life on Sunday, November 3, 2024. George was born on June 12, 1938 in Gretna, Florida to the late Sarah Jane and Charles Smith, Sr. George was employed as a skilled landscaper for several years before he retired.

George was a caring, trustworthy, kind hearted and respectable man. He was an active and dedicated member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, Orlando, serving faithfully in whatever capacity was needed. He was a provider and devoted his life to caring for his beloved family. He was a hard worker and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

George is survived by his loving children: daughters, Patricia Smith, Gayle Smith, Felicia Smith, Shenita (Demetrius) Smith, Sherika Smith, LaQuanda (Ralph) Smith-Garvin; sons, Coleman (Faye) Smith, George (Anita) Smith Jr., Kenneth (Penny) Smith, Vernon (Colita) Smith, Bruce Smith, Lorenzo (Resheana) Smith, Gabriel Smith; sister, Rebecca Smith; brothers, Johnny (Jean) Smith, Theodore Smith; former wife, Aggie Smith; 51 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 5-7PM at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 3905 W D Judge Drive, Orlando. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, 10:00 AM at The Hope Church of Orlando, 3032 Monte Carlo Trail, Orlando with Pastor Demetrius Davis, officiating. Interment: Taft Cemetery, Taft, Florida.
