Obituary:

Garfield Earl Little, 78, of Sanford, departed this life on Monday, September 22, 2025. Garfield, affectionately called ‘Earl or Sweet’, was born in Meridian, GA to the late Sammie Earl Little and Helen Wilson on November 7, 1946. After becoming a Florida resident at the ripe age of 19, Earl joined the United States Army, where he proudly served with the 82nd airborne infantry.

After serving in the military, Earl became a civil engineer, constructing many roads and bridges across the state of Florida. Aside from working in construction, he also enjoyed hobbies such as fishing, gardening and golf. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His family and friends will forever cherish his precious memories.

Earl leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife, Vera Little; daughter, Edna Monroe; siblings, Martha Wilson, Jamie Mae Burns, Sandra Lee (Walter) Dickie, Sheila (Oliver) Black, Joan Clark, Mary (Lonnie) Hamilton, David (Maureen) Wilson; 2 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, 1:00 PM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. Interment will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, 11:00 AM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, FL with full military honors.
