Obituary:

We regretfully announce the passing of a beacon of joy and wisdom in our family. A soul that ignited those around him with his wit, style, and grand humor. Frank James Anderson, the quintessential “Buddy” to all, transitioned on January 20, 2024, at 12:30 am in Rhode Island Hospital. Buddy was born on September 14, 1958, as the seventh child of nine.

Buddy came into this world as a force as he was the embodiment of wonder and merriment from his early days. His zest for life never faded as he grew from a playful child to a magnetic man who led by example, championing a life enriched by continuous learning and personal growth. A proud veteran, Buddy served his country with honor and valor during the Vietnam War, earning a purple heart during service. He continued to be a pillar as he served his fellow veterans as a Psychiatric Technician. His courage and dedication to continue to serve and uplift will define his character throughout his life.

Buddy’s legacy of love and guidance lives on through his devoted daughter, Alayah Anderson, and his three sons, Anton Anderson, Avanti Anderson, and Frank Hunt, who will carry forward his strength and wisdom. He leaves behind his ride or die, love, and fiancée, Veronica Dean, who in the end became his partner and confidante. He was a grandfather of 13 grandsons and daughters, beloved brother to his sisters, Juanita Murphy, Minnie Nicholas, Sherry Taylor, Gloria Jackson, Mary Wesley, and Leola Davenport. Buddy’s spirit is also celebrated by his niece Colletta Lassiter, who loved him like a daughter. Each can attest to the light he brought into their lives and the unbreakable bonds he nurtured within the family. The void that left by Buddy extends to a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom found a friend and mentor in him. Let us all rejoice and remember the courageous and extraordinary man that Frank showed he was.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 12 Noon until services begin at 1:00 PM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. Buddy’s cremains will be spread on Daytona Beach February 6, 2024, at 2PM. As we bid him farewell, we take comfort in knowing his legacy will continue to inspire laughter, courage, and an undying thirst for knowledge.
