Obituary:
Eurel “Egbert” Barton, 84, of Apopka, departed this life on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Eurel was born on February 28, 1940 in the parish of St. Mary, Jamaica. He worked in construction for several years until he retired.
‘Egbert’ was a loving, caring, gentle giant. He loved gardening and singing, and spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren and great grandchildren always gravitated to him. Eurel raised all of his kids with values and morals. He was an active member of Tabernacle of Glory Apostolic Church, where he was ordained as a Deacon. He was a provider and loved devoted his life to caring for his beloved family. ‘Egbert’ will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife, Cynthia Barton; 11 children, Delroy Barton, Garie (Sophia) Barton, George Barton, Christopher Barton, Patrick Barton, Lurline Barton, Evelyn (Kert) Barton-Stewart, Hortense Barton, Patrina Barton, Simone Barton, Kerri Ann (Dennis) Brown; sisters, Olga Watt, Elaine Watt; brother, Kenneth Watt; 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, 10:00 AM Tabernacle of Glory Apostolic Church, 495 W. Silver Star Road, Ocoee with Pastor Robert Young, officiating. Interment: Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka.
