Obituary:
Eric Emmanuel Looby, 79, of Orlando, departed this life on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Eric was born October 8, 1941 on the “Nature Island” of the Caribbean—Dominica, West Indies. As a young adult, he relocated to the island of Antigua where he lived and worked for several years. In 1981, Eric moved to the United States and resided in the city of Mt. Vernon, New York for approximately 10 years, before settling in Orlando, Florida.
During his teenage years, Eric was an apprentice learning the trade of Auto Mechanics. His passion to repair cars developed, and he became a Master Mechanic. He eventually opened his own business, Looby’s Automotive Repair in Orlando, Florida. Eric was a proud business owner. Through his business he established numerous lifelong friendships. He always looked forward to fellowshipping with his loved ones and friends.
After the sale of his business, Eric found additional friends to fellowship with at the Orange Center Church of God of Prophecy in Orlando. Prior to his sudden death, Eric gave his life to Christ.
Eric is survived by his children: Elizabeth Estrill (Dwight), Mary Loubie (Aaron) and Glen Emmanuel Looby. One sister Medora Edwards, grandchildren: Dante Looby, Robert DeFreitas Jr., DeDani Estrill, Tanya Paul, DeLani Estrill, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and special friends.
The family will receive guests from 10:30AM until services begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando.
