Obituary:

Emory James Jr., 79, of Orlando, departed this life on Friday, February 10, 2023. Emory was born on April 3, 1943 in Winter Garden, FL to the late Mary C. and Emery James Sr.

After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the US Army and served his country proudly until he was discharged in 1964. After completing his military service, he relocated to Florida and was employed as a railroad engineer until retirement. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Patrisha James, Jasmin James, Kimberly Erwin, Gail Martin, Tracy Davis, Rachel Robinson-Collins; siblings, Cecilia James-Smalls, Francine James, Alvin James, Lee Arthur James, Forest James, Hezekiah James and Frederick James; 6 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other reatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 10:00AM until services begin at 11:00 AM, First Baptist Church of Orlando-Henry Chapel, 3000 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando. Interment: Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell with full military honors.

    I met Emory when I was about 8 or 9. Always nice to me. Like the cool Uncle. Would help me fix my Lawn Mower so I could keep making money as a 9-10 year old kid. Always nice to me. Sorry for everyone’s loss.
