Obituary: Eddie Carter, Jr. also known as “Reb” was born on July 2, 1950 to parents Eddie Carter, Sr. and Julia Mae Carter. He went on to be part of Charles R. Drew High School’s last graduating class in 1969. In 1970, he studied to become one of the first black emergency medical technicians in West Orange County. He later decided to try his hand at boxing until 1978. He eventually became a community leader, starting softball teams for men, women, and children; bringing recreation and joy to the community for many years. Over the years he had 10 children and did his best to teach them to be honest, fair, open minded and to always do their best. Eddie loved his family with all his heart.

Siblings: Pauline Baker -Winter Garden, FL, Loretha Taylor – Minneola, FL, Kathy Carter-Sanders – Winter Garden, FL, Ralph A. Carter (Barbara) – Winter Garden, FL. Aunts: Eula Carter – Winter Haven, FL and Vilena Allen – Winter Garden, FL. Godmother: Bernice Fleming, Groveland, FL and a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 4-7 PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, 11:00 AM at Tildenville Missionary Baptist Church, 233 Massey Avenue, Winter Garden with Pastor Harry Woodard, officiating. Interment: Oakland-Tildenville Community Cemetery, Oakland.
