Obituary:

Deacon Eddie James Banks, 80, of Orlando, transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Deacon Banks was born on July 7, 1942 in Ty Ty, GA to the late Lillie Mae and Nathaniel Banks, Sr. Professionally, he was employed as a construction worker until he retired.

He was an active and faithful member of The Hope Church of Orlando. He served in several capacities, namely as a Chaplain, member of the Ministerial Team and the Men’s Ministry. He was a servant of God who feared and loved the Lord with all his heart until his last breath. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed and cherished by all who knew him.

Deacon Banks breathed his last breath and put on his new robe of glory on April 20th. His ministry and legacy will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife, Catherine C. Banks; children, Ronald M. (Montika) Atkinson, Michael (Tara) Banks, Keith (Teresa) Banks, Karen Wafer, Amanda Atkinson; brother, Nathaniel Banks Jr.; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, the entire Banks family, colleagues he served with, and numerous friends. Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 10AM until services begin at 11:00AM, The Hope Church of Orlando, 3032 Monte Carlo Trail, Orlando with Minister Virginia Whittington, officiating and Arch Bishop Allen TD Wiggins, eulogist. Interment: Washington park Cemetery, Orlando.

    An uncle is a blessing . It means so many things words could never tell the joy an uncle brings. An uncle is a bond of faith that even time can’t sever, a gift to last all of our lives.
