Obituary:

David Lee Bennett, Jr, 53, of Orlando, departed this life on Thursday, March 27, 2025. David was born on July 7, 1971 in Orlando, FL to the late Mary Wilson Bennett and David Bennett Sr. David lived all of his life in Florida and received his education through the Orange County Public School System.

As an adult, David enjoyed restoring cars, fishing and playing loud music. He loved living life to the fullest by taking long road trips, spending time with family, he was always generous in his giving and willing to help others in need. David began his career as a local truck driver prior to becoming disabled, but his disability did not stop him from becoming an entrepreneur who was always looking for a new business venture to endeavor into.

David grew up in the church under the guidance of Christian parents. He loved the Lord with all his heart and knew the way. No matter where life led him, He never stopped praying and always confessed Jesus the Christ as his Lord and Savior. His last known church home was True Holiness of Worship under Pastor Lestola Williams.

David was a proud father of fourteen children and they were his passion. David leaves his precious memories with a devoted life partner, Ziarah Davis; three sisters: Sabrina (Garth) Simmons, Marilyn Bennett-Cannon, Anita (Hosea) Young. Two Brothers: Thomas (Stephanie) Nowlin, and Gary Bennett. Five daughters: Erica Bennett, Nyesha Basley, Angela Gay, DáSani Lee Upshaw Bennett, Dashawna Bennett. Nine sons: Rayban Suarez, David D. Bennett, Christopher J. Bennett, Horace Lee Upshaw Bennett, Benjamin Lee Upshaw Bennett, Danon Bennett, David Lee Bennett III, Gram Andrew Bennett-Daly. One living Aunt: Roxie Bell, Four grandchildren, a host of bonus children, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. David “Gram Theman” Bennett will be truly missed by many.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 4-6 PM at the mortuary. A service of Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, 12:00 Noon at Mt. Olive Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 745 Woods Avenue, Orlando. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
