Obituary:
Chimira S. “Mira” Edwards, 37, of Apopka, departed this life on Saturday, February 11, 2023. Chimira was born on July 23, 1985 in Orlando, FL to Gwendolyn and Larry Edwards. Mira was always an above average student and athlete. While at Evans High, she was a member of the National Honor Society, Trojan JV Cheerleading Squad, and the Dazzling Emeralds Dance team of the Green Machine Marching Band. She excelled in academics since elementary and graduated in the top 10 from Evans High School in 2003. She then went on to attend the University of Florida where she majored in Healthcare Administration. During this time, she was a campus beauty and became a member of the Spring 2005 Iota Lambda Chapter Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. After graduating, she continued her education at UF, earning her Masters in Healthcare Administration as well.
Chimira had a passion for serving people. She opened her own healthcare consulting business in 2015 Optimum Health Outcomes, LLC, which addressed anxiety, depression and other PTSD issues. She participated in numerous events and programs along with her sorority sisters which helped to mentor young girls and women from various social backgrounds. Chimira was a businees minded young woman but always remained involved in many community events and activities. She will always be remembered for her jazzy style, grace, and compassion for others. Chimira was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her mother, Gwendolyn Edwards; brother, Justin Edwards, Terril (Jessica) Murphy, Timothy Edward; Godbrother, Carlton Christian; 1 nieces, 7 nephews; and a host of other relatives, classmates, sorority sisters, and many friends.
The family will receive guests on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, 11:00AM at Orlando West Ministries, 3005 N. Powers Drive, Orlando with Pastor R. Keith Hicks, Sr. officiating. Interment: Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka.

Just found out about this heartbreaking news I have great memories of Chimira . She was always the biggest voice at the PINEHILLS games always had something funny to say . I’ll remember her that way she had a beautiful smile and energy I will miss her .
