Obituary:
Charles Hawkins, Jr., 79, of Orlando, departed this life on Friday, January 15, 2021. Charles, affectionately known as ‘Total Package’ by his family and friends, was born on June 22, 1941 to the late Wynell and Charlie Hawkins, Sr. in Vienna, Georgia.
Charles joined the US Army in 1962 and served his country honorably. He was a devoted and faithful member of Washington Shores Church of Christ for over 47 years. There, he served in the choir, as a Sunday School Teacher, Bible Study and Prayer Leader. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading. He will forever by known for his calm spirit and when anyone heard the name Charles love, light, and good memories will fill their minds and heart. He has left a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Charles worked untiringly as a manager of Graybar Electrical Wholesale business for 37 years until he retired. He worked and provided for his family until his call from the Master came on January 15th.
He leaves to cherish his memories: sons, Reginald C. Hawkins, Erick L. (Tynisa) Hawkins; daughter, Laconda Barber; 10 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021, 11:00 AM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. Interment: Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with full military honors.
