Obituary:

Bernadette Theresa Franklin, 60, of Orlando, departed this life on Monday, February 21, 2022. Ms. Franklin was born on August 14, 1961 in New Orleans, LA to the late Willie James and Junedale M. Franklin. Ms. Franklin was educated at Epiphany Elementary School, John McDonough Senior High School, and earned her A.S. Degree from Delgado Community College, New Orleans, LA. She relocated with her parents and other family members to Orlando, FL in 2005 after the Hurricane Katrina Disaster in Louisiana. She was a member of New Bethel A.M.E. Church.

Ms. Franklin worked as a Security Professional with Hilton Properties, New Orleans; Law Enforcement, Orleans Criminal Sheriff’s Office; and lastly, as a Security Guard with Wakenhut, Orlando, Florida. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving daughter, Ashley Franklin; sister, Ava Bieniemy; cousins, Maxine Hixon, LaJuana Farrior-Jackson, Schuan Chisholm (Marion), Randolph Farrior (Therese), Michael Farrior, Rhonda Sapp; nephews and nieces, Phillip (Valerie) Franklin, Sr.; Alexandria V. Griffin, Elizabeth Griffin, Josiah McClain, Alana Hudson, Lauryn Franklin, Phillip Franklin, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.

A service of memory will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022, 3:00PM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando.

    I still remember the fun times at LSU and times spent together while in New Orleans. I’m glad we were able to reconnect via Facebook. I looked forward to reading your encouraging words.
