Obituary:

Arcie B. Edwards, 82, of Orlando, departed this life on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Arcie was born on September 24, 1941 in Lumpkin, Georgia to the late Arcie L. and Sidney Beauford, Sr. Professionally, Arcie was employed as a hospital housekeeping department supervisor for several years.

Arcie dedicated her life to service in her church, family and community. She was an active member of St. Mark AME Church, Orlando for over 30 years. Over her 3 plus decades of faithful membership, she served in various capacities of the church including the choir, Stewardess Board, and the Women’s Missionary Society. She was also a member of the Daisy Chapter #158 Order of Eastern Stars. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her children and grandchildren to follow. Arcie was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children: Cynthia J. Beauford, Elder John H. (Pastor Maria) Beauford, Calvin E. Beauford; sisters, Lucille Harris, Mary B. Foreman, Betty J. Beauford, Joann Jackson; 7 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 4PM – 6PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, 11:00 AM at St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1968 Bruton Boulevard, Orlando with Rev. Priscilla Robinson, officiating and Pastor Maria Beauford, eulogist.

    What a wonderful lady! We lovingly called each other brother and sister in law. I’ve spent time with her at church and at her home. The last few months, we became neighbors and I loved her dearly. I will greatly miss you sister in law.
