Obituary:

Amos Polen, Jr., 86, of Orlando, departed this life on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Amos was born on October 12, 1933 in Avera, Georgia to Carrie and Amos Polen, Sr. He worked as a welder at American Breakshoe Welding Company for 17 years in New Jersey. Once he moved to Florida, he was employed by Holman Rolls Royce Dealership as a maintenance specialist for over 12 years in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Amos enjoyed social activities at the Mark’s Street Senior Recreation Center from 2007 to 2013. Then he became a Senior member at Share the Care College Park Adult Care from 2015 to 2018. He was a loving father, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Amos leaves to cherish his memories: children, Larry Polen, Ranette (James) Vickers, Deborah and Faith Polen, Lash (Vera) Green, Cathy Jones; siblings, Mary Stone, James, Thomas (Jackye) Polen, Benjamin (Deloris) Polen, Lois and Charles (Alicia), Cindy DeGroat and Lizzie Mitchell; sisters-in-law, Linda Polen and Felicia Polen; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Due to the current state of COVID/19 pandemic and travel restrictions, the family has made provisions for those who are unable to attend the Homegoing Celebration Services to live stream using the following link: https://postellsmortuary.com/livestream

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. Interment: Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka, FL.

Executive Order in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic… we will only allow 10 individuals in at a time to enter the funeral home. We must adhere to these guidelines so that we all can remain safe and secure during this crisis. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

    Condolences to our family for the loss of Uncle Amos…
    We give all the glory to GOD for his protective righteousness. Memories of Uncle Amos are of PURE STRENGTH and the remembrance of his warm bright SMILE…When he made his image, it was of a Warrior!!! Peace and Blessings to Jackye and Daddy who helped fight the good fight and to all of our Polen family and friends who have been in prayer. RIP.

    Amos was a good man and we were blessed to have him as a part of our lives. We will always remember the kindness and warmth he brought to the family. He will be missed.

    It bares repeating what most everyone has said about this Amazing man. Uncle Amos was a kind, gentle and loving sole. His smile was as bright and beautiful as his heart.
