Obituary:
Alenda Louise Nelson, 83, of Orlando, departed this life on Sunday, March 23, 2025. Alenda, affectionately called Louise / Monkey Dunk by her family, was born on March 3, 1942 in Lakeland, Florida to the late Juanita Brown and Alex Leggett. Professionally, she was employed as a bus driver with Lynx Transportation until she retired.
Alenda was a loving and caring woman with a heart of gold. She loved sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren always gravitated to her. She instilled values and morals in the lives of all her children and grandchildren. Alenda was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memories: loving husband, Dexter Nelson Sr.; children, Gina Bryant, Willie (Latanya) Nichols Jr., Joseph (Tanya) Nichols, Anthony (Jackie) Butler Sr., Dexter ( Raquisha) Nelson Jr.; sister, Cynthia (Truman Forward) Pickett; 20 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
A service of memory will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2025, 11:00 AM at Christ International Church, 1250 Piedmont Wekiva Road, Apopka with Bishop Cordell Samuels, eulogist.
