Obituary:

Anthony Leon Jenkins, 71, of Orlando, departed this life on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Anthony, affectionately known as “Andy, was born on February 24, 1954, in Sumter, South Carolina, to the late Leo and Geneva Jenkins, and was later raised in Orlando, Florida.

Anthony was educated in the Orange County Public School system, where he proudly attended and graduated from Evans High School. During his time at Evans High, he was a member of the school’s basketball team and celebrated a state championship win, an accomplishment he carried with pride throughout his life.

Anthony was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He worked for OUC for 10 years and later devoted 25 years of service to CKS Plastics before retiring. After retirement, Anthony continued his hardworking spirit by starting his own lawn-mowing business, which he enjoyed and took great pride in.

In his personal life, Anthony found joy in many simple pleasures. He had a deep love for music and animals, both of which brought him comfort and happiness. He also had a fond appreciation for classic cars, often sharing stories about his two favorites—the Deuce and a Quarter and the Volkswagen Bug. Above all, Anthony cherished spending time with his family, especially his sisters, and valued every moment shared with loved ones.

Anthony will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Anthony is survived by his two children, Charity Jenkins and Anthony Jenkins Jr., both of Orlando, Florida; his sisters, Harriet Glover of South Carolina and Millie Jenkins of Brooklyn, New York; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 4-6 PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, 11:00 AM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
