Obituary:
John “Big John” Jackson, 82, of Plymouth, departed this life on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Big John, raised in Winter Garden, was born on July 10, 1943 to the late Julia and Willie Jackson. He was educated in Orange County Public Schools, and a graduate of Charles R. Drew High School.
After completing his formal education, he entered the workforce. For over 40 years, he was employed with Heller Brothers Packing Corporation. Aside from his professional career, John had a passion for building race cars, drag racing, dog training. He poured his heart into farming and giving back to his community and church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his devoted wife of over 51 years, Rosa Lee Jackson; 5 children, Jacqueline (Garrett) Wright, Everett L. Jackson, Joseph A. (Rose) Washington Jr., Lillie (Craig) Wynn, Donna Washington; 6 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
A graveside service and inurnment will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, 11:00 AM at Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka.
