Obituary:
Deacon Thomas Dillard Sr., 81, of Orlando, departed this life on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Deacon Dillard was born on January 20, 1944 to Walter Sr and Gertrude Dillard. He was a part of a loving family. He had four siblings: Walter Jr. (Carrie), Annie Sue (Jordan), Ralph Sr (Louise), and Claude. All of whom have preceded him in death.
Deacon Thomas was raised in Athens, Georgia. He was raised in church, and that foundation provided his strong, deep roots in the Christian Faith. A true believer in God and the Word. Deacon Thomas excelled in academics and sports . He was always a good leader, it was exhibited through sports he played – basketball, football, and track and field. While in high school Thomas received some disturbing news that demanded his leadership as a young man. He became the head of the house. With his siblings looking to him to provide he accepted the challenge and used his leadership to make the impossible possible.
Thomas’ life was a personification of making the impossible possible. He started working at the Walt Disney Company, but found a better opportunity and started working for Robb & Stuckey Furniture Company. He started as a Truck Driver but the display of his good leadership opened the door to a promotion to manager. He worked there for 20 years. Thomas filled many roles during his life, son, brother, husband, father, friend, mediator, patriarch, provider, therapist, coach, cheerleader and many, many, more.
Deacon Thomas Dillard leaves to cherish his memories, his wife- Maudest, children- Kim (Eddie), Shawanza, Thomas Jr (Sherrell), Shanarh (Shekeya) grandchildren, Sister- in-laws, and a host of devoted loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
