Obituary:
Wilhelmena D. McCray, 85 of Orlando, Florida departed this life on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Wilhelmena was born to Eva McFadden and Willie Doughty on March 27, 1937 in Manning, SC. She was employed as an educator with Orange County Public Schools for several years.
Wilhelmena was a very kind, generous, loving woman with a heart of gold. She dedicated her life to her raising and caring for her beloved family. She was an active member of New Bethel AME Church, Orlando under the leadership of Pastor R.D. Daniels. She served on the Usher Board and other ministries as needed for several years. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her family to follow. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory and to continue her legacy: her daughter, Joyce Massey; son, William (Sharon) McCray, III; sisters, Mildred Williams, Vertel Reagan; 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives, church family and loving friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 5-7PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022, 1:00PM at New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 4201 W. Columbia Street, Orlando with Pastor Wendell Webster, officiating. Interment: Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell.
