Obituary:
James Lavene Hill, 81, of Oakland, CA, departed this life on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. James was born on August 1, 1941 to the late Lelia McLaughlin and John E. Jill in Anderson, SC. He was employed as a waiter and served in the White House during the administration of President Johnson. He enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family. He was a devoted uncle and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
James is survived by two devoted nieces, Jacqueline D. Postell and Roberta Evans; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, 2:00PM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. Interment: Oakland-Tildenville Community Cemetery, Oakland.
