Condolences from the Greater Boston Association of Black Social Workers. Lynn has been a long-term member of our chapter is the late 1970’s and advocate for child welfare. He worked to develop a model for the Permanent Placement of African American Children in the foster care system and worked on the chapter’s position statement on Transracial Adoption. We love you Lynn and shall never forget kindness, support and presence. May you rest in peace. From your Boston family.

Our community here in Orlando was blessed to have Lynn as a champion. His good works will be long-remembered particularly with his work on the Parramore Community Garden, the Parramore Farmer’s Market, and the Mayor’s Committee on Livability and Healthy Aging. On a personal note, I will miss his intellect, his humor, and his genuine kindness. Lynn was a Good Man which is so rare in this world and our lives are better for having known him. God bless you Lynn, and my prayers are with his family and friends.

RIP Lynn. Lynn will be so missed. He was a champion for Terry Townhomes and the Callahan neighborhood. A man of action and persistence when it came to addressing issues and concerns impacting him and his neighbors. His love of community made a difference from being a founding member and serving as chairman of the Parramore Community Garden, serving as the president of the Terry Town Homes Property Owners Association to the many city committees and advisory boards you served. Our city and the Callahan neighborhood are better because of Lynn. My condolences to Lynn’s family.

Mr. Lynn had a twinkle in his eye as he taught us all how to be better humans in the Parramore Community Garden…from patiently listening, to guiding, to stepping into leadership – whatever the moment required. My favorite memory of Mr. Lynn was how he greeted me at the 10 year celebration of the Garden as we reunited over barbecue. His legacy is a beautiful one.

I am so shocked and sad to learn Lynn has departed us. I just tried to phone him! He and I have known each other since 1976 when we both started at the same time working for MA DMH as area drug coordinators. We hung out with Kattie Portis, Nat Wade, and those fabulous activist service providers in Dorchester and Roxbury. May his legacy live on as he rests in love and peace.
