Obituary:

Sampson Grant “Samp” Thomas, 83, Eatonville, departed this life on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Deacon Sampson was born on March 31, 1938 in Hawkinsville, GA to the late Lillie Mae and Grant Thomas. Samp, as he was affectionately called, was employed as a hotel bellman for over 30 years, and retired from Radisson Twin Towers, Orlando. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards and just spending quality time with his friends and family. He was a very outgoing person who never meta stranger. He was caring, trustworthy, kind hearted and respectable. He was an active member of Beth TeHillah Ministries, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School superintendent. He raised all of his kids with values and morals. He always taught all of his kids how to be strong and resilient. He cared for and loved all of his family. Sampson was a hard worker and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Deacon Sampson is survived by his loving children, Shun (Hannah) Thomas, Sonia Thomas-Mincey, Jonathan (Bonita) Thomas; brother, James (Barbara) Thomas; 9 grandchildren; and a host other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 4-6PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, 11:00AM at Beth TeHillah Ministries, 3450 S. US Highway 17 92, Casselberry with Pastor Ronald Critton, officiating.

    I was saddened to hear about the loss of Mr. Sampson Grant and condolences to the family and friends. To be absence from the body is to be present with the Lord. His concern for the community of Eatonville was his greatest priority and he will be missed. May God Continue to bless and keep you even in the darkest hours.
